The climbing centre is an example of how a sports centre can be arranged to house everyday activities for the many and at the same time be a place where the biggest international competitions and events can take place.
The climbing centre, also known under the name Blocs & Walls, is located in one of the big halls that used to house the shipyard B&W at Refshaleøen in the Copenhagen harbour.
The Danish Foundation for Culture and Sports Facilities can support show facilities for the international elite and general sports events for the many. However, it is a prerequisite that it is possible to use the facilities on an everyday basis even if you are not exactly a world champion or a medal hope at the next Olympics.
