In continuation of the parking lot of Solrød Gymnasium is The WEDGE, which until recently was a surplus area of a half-acre of land overgrown with bushes, thickets and trees.
The WEDGE is Solrøds new benchmark for everyday life, unity, movement and learning. The project draws in more life to and through the centre of Solrød and creates an urban space with facilities that draws in different types of people than traditional suburban areas.
The idea with the project is to make two rain water basins there simultaneously functions as active city spaces and gives room for new types of organised and unorganized activities.
